The competition is annually organized at the Dubai Club for People with Disabilities in the holy month of Ramadan.
This year, a total of 463 individuals will compete in the Quranic event, according to alkhaleej.ae website.
The categories of the contest are memorization of the Holy Quran at different levels (from memorizing short Surahs (chapters) to memorizing the entire Quran), Raisa al-Falasi, a member of the club’s executive boards said.
She added that the competition is aimed at encouraging people with disabilities to learn the Quran by heart and contemplate its concepts and teachings.
It is also aimed at identifying Quranic talents among them, she went on to say.
According to al-Falasi, those unable to go to the club to partake in the competition can attend in it online.
